Hello,

My name is John, I live in Miami, FL and I was wondering what can be done if my resume does not have video game testing experience. I am however a qualified IT Technician with an A+ cert and C+ and C# experience if that helps? I am an avid gamer usually playing pretty much everyday including weekends, and I have done some beta testing for games such as COD4MW, Halo Reach, Microsoft HDCD including the free copy of Halo included and Gears of War 2 and 3.

Like everyone else I have no game testing skills what so ever but I would like to be one I am a senior in high school and all o do is play games. Even though I am good at other things I can not get a job anywhere else no matter how hard I try and my family and I think this would be a good job for me because all I do is play games. How do I find a game testing job for someone like me any pointers?

hi, this is pavan, I have no experience in game testing.but i like to play very much.i am 22 years old completed my graduation (b.tech) and had several years of gaming experience (tekken, prince of Persia, devil may cry, god of war , NFS series and more.)and more interested in fighting games.so, i want to become a professional game tester can u please advice in a direction…..!

Like James on here, I have no experience in game testing. I am still currently in high school and am interested in becoming a game tester, but where do I start? What do I put on my resume since I do not have any higher education for this subject?

Like many, I play video games out of enjoyment, but it is hindering my family because it is a ‘waste of time’. Which is one of the various reasons why I’m looking at game testing. I am 16 years old and have had several years of gaming experience (ranging from RPGs to first shooters, adventure to MMORPG games), starting at a younger age. I work with the Xbox 360, original xbox, DS Lite, gameboys, Gamestation, Nitendo 64, Wii, and computer games.
Advice in a direction?

Hi,this is ahsun. i have a great bend towards gaming. I simply am an addict, before this was a waste of time for my family. Now that theres an opportunity of getting into some serious talks,i dont want to miss it. It will be great to know more about gaming tester.

As far as i am concerned, i have completed my graduation, am from hyderabad. 21 yrs old,but have a good hand on experience on games which includes XBOX,PS, PS2, PS3, and many other games of mobiles and pc too. and now looking for an opportunity of getting into gaming and playing a good role there in ur company.

I dont have any work experience in the testing field but I have an 8 years of experience with numerous game platforms which includes PS, PS2, PS3, XBOX, and many PC games. Hello, I too have little to no experience testing videogames for any companies but am a video game junkie. I have experience with a number of systems and have stumbled upon a vast amount of glitches and issues that needed to be addressed before the game was released in my 18+ years of gaming experiences. I have taken many college courses in writing as I have my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. My question is… Would it be better to get involved with a bachelors in game design at say a school such as “Full Sail University”? To gain experience and knowledge needed or should I just try to find opportunities on the web and shape up my resume?

I have been a dedicated video game player for 18 years. I have never worked in game testing before and im working on a resume. I found your example to be very inspiring. Do you have any advice to help boost my own resume if I have no education beyond high school and my only experience is hands on gaming? Any advice is highly appreciated.

What if I’m just starting out as a video game tester, with nothing but a High-School education, several years of gaming experiance, and a passion for games behind to back me up? Any thoughts on what to put on a resume with that type of limited experience?

Hello,
I have been playing games since I was 3 years old(im 23 now). I love gaming and all that it entails. Like others I too am seeking a job as a QA tester and I have zero experiance in actual testing. I am going to college and I have tons of experiance with any video game system you can name. My question is… Is it possible to get a testing job when you dont live near a QA office? I think the closest ones to me are in LA and I live 2 hours away… Could you give me a link or any information which might help not only finding a job but maybe a way to do it from home? Anything close to the Palm Springs area would help me out a lot, oh and thanks for making this site, it is great.

I have read through a number of your articles and have taken a strong intrest in the video gaming industry. I’ve been playing video games for about 8 years with a passion. And I am wondering if you could shed some light on what I would put on a resume considering I don’t have many qualifications. I have a high-school education and study some subjects at an AS level.

I am also wondering if you know any websites who offer jobs for somebody new to video game testing; If you could perhaps send me a link or any information which might help it would be much appreciated.

I have been very intrested in video game testing for a few months now. I’ve play a variety of game systems like: Atari Pong, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Colecovision, NEC Turbo Grafx 16, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Atari Jaguar, Nintendo 64, X-Box, Playstaion 1,2&3, and Wii.

I have been wondering about how I could get started in the gaming industry. To do something that I love to do. I would be very greatful if you could please give me a direction to get started in. I have a high school education. I have been in the United States Army National Guard. I have experience in computers from the military and personal work.
