How do you find these jobs? Most of the time, you can look on video game company websites to see which games they need testers for. Sometimes, however, they only post volunteer beta testing  options. While you can certainly apply for these beta tests, you won't get paid for them. Why do them, then? Because they can give you experience testing games and this experience can help you get a paying job later. Some games, such as World of Warcraft, actually run test servers most of the time. You can create a character on these test servers and help test out new content and items before they go live. Again, while it's not paid, it's great game testing experience.

If you want a paying job, you will most likely need to send out query letters to game companies asking if they have any openings. Even if they don't have any games currently up for testing, they will often keep your resume on file for future projects. Generally, you'll direct your query letters to game company's human resources office, but sometimes you'll actually want to go to a temp agency in the area. These agencies often work with game companies to supply them with temporary employees, which is what game testers usually are. Remember not to get too discouraged if you don't get hired as a game tester right away. Keep trying, and keep doing volunteer beta tests to add to your resume and gain more experience.
