i just turned 18 2 days ago, and this is exactly what ive been wanting to do sense i was 11 years of age. i know you here people say ( oh ive been playing games for 8 years can i be a game tester? ) well i hate to say this about myself but i had quit school to play video games. i was so obsessed with Halo 1,2,3 World of warcraft, Call of duty, rainbow six, oblivion.

ive won several tournaments on halo. and was actually first place on the most popular tournament site. called Gamebattles.com ever sense i was 6 and i was watching my grandpa play Zelda for the Nintendo i was SO fascinated with playing games. i started to play with him and we beat the game in 1month or so. i always had a STRONG passion for video games. the only reason im on my computer is because i was looking forward to becoming a gametester. i understand that u have to find and fix Bugs in the games, i honestly dnt get bored with video games at all.

This might sound like im lying but i have no reason to lie. i love video games. and if im making money playing them. my life would be complete. yea maybe after a couple more years of playing these mmorpg, rpgs , and shooters. my eyes would sould start to hurt. but i recentley just got glasses. and ive been wearing them ever sense.

i HONESTLY have the passion and the desire to have this job. i was put on this planet for this exact reason. i stay up around 2-3 in the morning playing video games. doesnt matter if its pc, or consoles. but if i had a choice i would say i play consoles a liitle bit more.

the average day of a tester is this: you are given a level or area to test. you press each and every button and run into every single wall. if you fall through the wall, you note it. you continue this all day until you leave. there is NO glamour to video game testing. you will learn to hate the game you’ve always wanted to play.

Perhaps you should first learn how to use proper grammar before you assume your better than everyone because you can spell.

none of you have any lives all you do is waste your life, yes videogames are fine but you are wasting your life playing 6+ hours a day! and anyways testing isnt even a great job as thrill kill said its boring its a terrible job and only a few games are even worth it if you are interested in games get into programming at least then you will be able to make a decent amount of cash and it is at least half as fun as playing.

Sadly, I like to get paid for my work in more substantial forms than minimum wage with no job security.

I have friends that had this job.. It’s terrible. You play crappy broken games all day, then make developers angry when you find problems they should have fixed in pre-alpha.

Well I’m 16 nad I play vidoe ames all day pretty much evry day LOL! I think this this job would be purfect for me bcuz I’m really good at HALO and COD4. In fact, is there ne way could just get paid to play Halo 2? That would be great!1 I relly leik video games so where is teh application? I don’t see a p-lace to type in my name to become a tester for HALO… Coud some1 help me with this? I think I would be a great tester but where do I sign up? Any help woud be great. THNX!

trust me, video game testing is not all fun and glamor.

I did testing for Microsoft xbox. Most of the testing i did was with hardware compatibility, and making sure new games worked with older gen’s of xboxes before they were released.

when you have a good title to test, then that’s when the job is awesome. when you get stuck playing games like barbie horse adventures for 8 hours a day it gets old quick.

the other thing, when you find a “bug” you get to spend the next few hours reproducing it, and then documenting the steps.

Once you have been at the job for a few years, you will see your self playing less games at home. and what games you do play, you will find your self looking for flaws instead of “playing the game”

im only 15 yrs old but i really like videogames and i play them all the time with my friends and i like halo alot and i really like to yell homophobic racist profanities into my headset, because my whore of a mother never told me to respect others and my father doesnt give a shit because he is some piece of white trash, and since im too lazy to care about my education and getting a real job i want to become a videogame tester because it would be so cool to just play videogames all day and i would have so much fun and my friends would be jealous, even though i don’t realize that the job is boring, monotonous and repetetive, and the pay is not satisfactory and it gives you no expirience if you were to lose that job and i think that since im such a worthless piece of shit and i waste my entire life playing videogames i should get this job.

well i’m 16 turning 17 this year, i was wondering if someone could tell me if i need anyone requriments for playing games alday lol. i have and xbox 360 im a serous gamer my brother has a PS3 so its no problem for me to try both, i love games iv’e been playing allsorts from the sega all the way to ps3 and xbox 360. ive tried most console or had them im experienced and have been gaming since 8 or 9 years old, somewhere round that age, well thanks for listening. I could have this job. i dont have any new sytems yet. but i play videos games every day. all day. mostly pc now. but iv been playing video games every day for 12 years im 18. i began playing when i was 7 years old. its my passion to play video games.
id play any type. my fvaorites are shooters and rpgs. i also like mmorpg.

I have a ps3 Call of Duty 4 and im getting Call of Duty 5 for Christmas along with a brand new laptop 2 fit the good computer requirement. Many of my friends also have an xbox 360 so i am also very familiar with that 2.
